Title:  Modeling and Simulation Senior Tools Analyst

Job Summary

The Modeling and Simulation Senior Tools Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert and conduit in inter-agency coordination; provide inputs, prepare and/or present high-level briefings of an innovative business, management, technological or strategic nature; and work closely with representatives of the M&S IPT and Steering Committee; act as an information conduit between Communities, the Joint Staff and Services and M&S CO management.

Duties Include:  

  • Supporting the M&S CO Associate Directors with M&S Tools, M&S Services and M&S Data by:
  • Coordinating M&S corporate and cross cutting issues amongst national and international communities and activities
  • Assist the M&S CO leadership in obtaining and analyzing data as input into major management decisions involving all relevant technical and application areas
  • Conduct analyses, technical assessments, research and other studies of modeling and simulation and related activities to: provide technology assessments, plan development and workshop support, and support M&S CO in the conceptualization, drafting and coordination of M&S business & strategic plans, and documents
  • Provide expertise in the management of model and simulation software or simulation environments and/or analyzes results produced by M&S
  • Provide expertise in the development, use, or transformation of data leading to accurate and effective M&S.
  • Provide expertise in establishment of standards for the consistent representation of data so that it can be interchanged among M&S applications and with operational systems (structural metadata)
  • Provide expertise in the development or coordination of a variety of technical standards related to M&S standards (e.g. HLA, SEDRIS, XML, IPV6)
  • Participate in the development of DoD M&S policy related to M&S; and
  • Investigate or identify business, scientific, technology, engineering, operational, professional and/or policy issues related to M&S.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secret clearance
  • Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the technical discipline relevant to M&S Data, Tools or Services
  • Possesses demonstrated knowledge in systems engineering or engineering related discipline of M&S
  • Possesses significant experience providing solutions to an organization’s challenges through the application of knowledge gained through similar prior engagements: demonstrates the capacity to participate in the development of solutions by leveraging knowledge of the designated field or discipline
  • Demonstrates the capacity to contribute to the implementation of strategy and helps assess the impact of industry trends, policy, and/or standard methodologies
  • Demonstrates the capacity to direct the activities of Specialists or other staff as necessary on activities related to the specified field or discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of program management disciplines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
