Executive Leadership

GRS brings a wide-array of experience and perspective to the development of client solutions. The following are biographies from our Executive Leadership Team.

 

Anthony “Tony” Williams – Chief Executive Officer

A visionary with over 25 years of extensive and progressive experience in intelligence, operations, human capital and training design. A former military officer, Tony culminated his defense career as the Director of the Strategic Planning Group for the Chief of Staff at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).  Prior to that, Tony held a Human Capital position with the Joint Staff Intelligence Office (J2) at the Pentagon. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University.

Janet Simmons – Senior Vice President

An accomplished former Army Officer and corporate Executive with more than 23 years of experience working in the Federal Government.  During the last 5 years of her military career, Janet served as a Senior Intelligence Officer and Briefer at the White House’s Drug Policy Control Office and as a Battalion Commander at Fort Belvoir, VA, responsible for the health, welfare, and training of over three thousand soldiers.  In addition, she managed significant federal budget assets in the Intelligence arena. Janet brings a wealth of experience across the intelligence disciplines, including Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT).  She holds a Master of Science Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Tina Wilson – Vice President for Business Development

A respected strategic planning and policy consultant, Tina has extensive experience in working with Senior leaders seeking to drive change in their organizations. Her work includes managing large-scale, mission-critical projects in the military, public, and private sectors. She possesses a wide-range of organizational development and change management capabilities to include business process analysis and improvement, enterprise-level resource programming, Senior-level facilitation, and complex event management. Prior to joining GRS, Tina served in the United States Air Force and was previously employed by Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Northrop-Grumman. She holds an MBA with a focus in Strategic Management from The Johns Hopkins University.

Michelle Rubie-Smith – Vice President for Business Operations (Finance & Contracts)

A strategic thinker Michelle has experience in planning, launching and successfully leading projects and operations that generate competitive advantage. She has identified business opportunities and deployed technology and process improvement tools to achieve business goals. She has strong interpersonal skills and natural leadership capabilities in building and motivating teams of professionals. She started her career in the public sector in personnel security and has spent the last 15 years in operations managing business lines from $20M – 350M. She is skilled at managing ambiguity and adapting to and driving change. She holds a BA in International Politics from Georgetown University and has completed Executive Development Program at University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Eric Knudson – Vice President for Strategic Planning and Policy Development

Eric Knudson serves as GRS’ Vice President of Strategic Planning and Policy Development as well as leading the firm’s growth of its Western Business. He is an experienced project/program manager and business developer having previously built and led Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategy and Change practice for its nationwide Military Intelligence account. Mr. Knudson has supported clients across the federal government’s security sector – from Army, Navy and Air Force clients to DIA, NRO, and NGA, as well as DHS. An adept leader with keen abilities to forge winning solutions for all stakeholders, he also possesses strong technical acumen in strategic planning, change management, business operations, intelligence analysis, and government transformation. Mr. Knudson is a former Air Force officer who served in the US space program as a Titan II/IV launch controller, trainer, mission planner, and as the Director of Operations of the National Reconnaissance Office’s Vandenberg AFB operating location. He also has served in private sector and non-profit management roles. He holds a BA from Biola University, a MBA from the University of Washington and is a certified Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute.

Mary H. Griggs - Vice President for Intelligence and Security Programs

A retired Senior Intelligence Executive Service member with 32 years of U.S. government service, Mary is well known for her outstanding accomplishments in establishing, transforming and leading new interagency offices in the intelligence, counterintelligence, security and law enforcement communities. These senior change agent positions were at DIA’s Defense Counterintelligence and HUMINT Center, the Defense Security Service, the Defense Counterintelligence Field Activity, the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Joint Counterintelligence Evaluation Office, and the National Counterintelligence Center. Mary also worked ground breaking national level policy issues while at the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board, the White House, and on the blue ribbon Director of Central Intelligence/Deputy Secretary of Defense Joint Security Commission. Mary has won numerous awards and honors from the Intelligence Community, to include the State Department, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Defense Agencies, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the National Counterintelligence Center. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from American University and has completed professional development courses from Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and George Washington University.
